What is the new voucher solution?
On May 15th, 2020, the legislator responded to the critical situation in live entertainment with the voucher solution and passed a new law. This new law provides that promoters of a music, cultural, sports, or other recreational event that could not or cannot take place due to the corona pandemic may issue a voucher to the ticket holder of tickets purchased before March 8th, 2020 instead of issuing a refund.
We will reach out to you to inform you whether the organizer of your canceled or rescheduled event makes use of the voucher solution and will inform you about the next steps by e-mail. Please bear with us while we coordinate with each promoter regarding the voucher solution.
Who issues the voucher?
If the promoter instructs us to carry out the voucher solution in his name, we take care of the handling. In this case you will receive a voucher from us on behalf of the promoter. In any case, your contract partner remains the promoter. Some promoters will take care of issuing the voucher themselves. In this case, too, we will provide you with all the necessary information by e-mail.
For which events can I redeem my voucher?
As soon as you have received your voucher from us, you can redeem it for any events of the promoter of your original event available on Ticketmaster.de. You will receive an e-mail from us with all the important information about your voucher, including how you can redeem your voucher with us and a link to the events available at Ticketmaster.de. Please check your e-mail inbox and your spam folder regularly.
Is the voucher transferable?
No, the voucher is not transferable and can therefore only be redeemed by yourself.
Can I change my mind later if I no longer want a voucher?
No, once you’ve applied for the voucher you cannot switch back to the original tickets.
Can I redeem my voucher for all events that are offered on Ticketmaster.de?
No, the voucher can only be redeemed for events that are also organized by the promoter the event you originally booked. In addition to your voucher, you will receive a link from us that shows all the events for which you can redeem your voucher.
What is the value of the voucher?
The value of the voucher corresponds to the value of your ticket, including any booking fees. Please note that if you purchased ticket insurance when you bought your tickets, this value is not part of your voucher.
Do I have to pay a fee to receive the voucher?
This service is free of charge for you. When you redeem your voucher for tickets, shipping fees may apply depending on your chosen shipping method (e.g., for mail delivery or box office pick-up). If eTickets are available at your chosen event and you choose eTickets, delivery by email is of course free of charge.
What happens if the event I selected costs more or less than the available value on my voucher?
If your shopping cart value is higher than the voucher value, you can pay the remaining amount with the usual payment methods. If the shopping cart value is lower, the remaining value stays on your voucher and can be redeemed in a later booking (for an event by the same promoter).
